The tremendous advantage of a terminal-based text editor/word processor is I can work from anywhere that has an internet connection using consistent tools.

A Linux|Android writing workflow otherwise seems borderline impossible.

It's either emacs or Manuskript, since scrivener for Linux just doesn't work anymore. Manuskript looks nice but I get the sense it's a single person's passion project and that seems risky.

I've been in one place too long. I itch to see different vistas. I haven't been in the same place this long in five years or more.

The people responsible for destroying the planet and kicking millions out of their houses during a pandemic will never suffer a single consequence until you, yes you, the person who is reading this, are willing to go to war to see that they do.

That's all there is to it.

Star Trek

The existence of the transporter is terrifying on so many levels. Leaving aside the existential aspect of it all, consider a world where anyone with access to a transporter can just snatch up anyone else to any secure location they want, or anyone can beam a bomb anywhere. A transporter creates untold opportunities for crime and terrorism.

Good thing Star Trek cured crime before the transporter was invented, cu ne?

The Last Kingdom

The show does a good job of painting a picture of England for its own sake, at portraying Alfred as a holy visionary rather than just a greedy lord out to expand his lands. And perhaps he was, but it's hard to reconcile that with the fact that the empire he founded ended up as the most brutal the world has ever known.

The Last Kingdom

Season 4 was kind of weak but I otherwise quite enjoyed the show.

Makes me want to get involved with the SCA, again, finally, maybe.

We all say we want to live like Diogenes but when's the last time you spit in a rich man's face or threw a plucked chicken at a philosophy professor?

Never, not once in history, has an old order given way to a new peacefully.

Giant Spock skeleton, oh man

I bet most of those skeletons pertain to previous Trek monsters but I'm not going to take the time to figure them out

Aw Boimler's nerdery saved the day

Oh and he's a transporter duplicate now, cool, cool, I see where this is going

Ok so far I see the game from The Game, Armin Shimerman's head from Haven. This one is going to be Callbacks Galor, I can tell.

Seems Boimler isn't thriving on the Titan.

I wonder if Johnathan Frakes is happy with his increased role this season.

Is that Odo's bucket? And a Horta nodule? Riker's trombone, uhh a pair of gravity boots from STVI?

Khan's necklace? The candle from Ronin?

Oh he's a puppet

Ok

Blurring the nudity with the sonic shower vibrations. That's a new one. I see they're showering Starship Troopers-style, interesting, interesting.

Darmok! DARMOK DARMOK DARMOK

A "Collecter's Guild?" Is this Guardians of the Galaxy now?

Hahaha I wondered if they were going to do the metaphor gag the whole episode.

Ugh when is Boimler coming back. Jet's hot but he's no Boimler.

Oh there he is, on the Titan. Hi Boims! Ooh, and more Riker.

Ooh, new Goblins *and* new K6BD?

Looking a lot like Christmas
