God help me, I'm considering learning emacs
It's either emacs or Manuskript, since scrivener for Linux just doesn't work anymore. Manuskript looks nice but I get the sense it's a single person's passion project and that seems risky.
The tremendous advantage of a terminal-based text editor/word processor is I can work from anywhere that has an internet connection using consistent tools.
A Linux|Android writing workflow otherwise seems borderline impossible.
I just can't countenance using something that isn't open source or that at least uses open standards. I have some Scrivener projects half-done and now they're basically inaccessible unless I find a windows machine.
You never own proprietary shit, not ever.
